Animal Research Statistics for Greece
Animal Testing in Greece
Directive 2010/63 on the protection of animals used for scientific purposes in the EU, introduced a requirement for greater transparency on animal experiments. One of these measures was the requirement that member states submitted – and published – statistics on their use of animals to the European Commission on an annual basis (Article 54(2). The last report under the previous legislation, Directive 86/609/EEEC, was published in 2013 covering the year 2011.
